Learn the Latest Apps at #RootsTech 2018
It's a cliche now, but "There's an app for that." If you're not sure what apps can help you with your genealogy on the go or if you want to know how to use the apps better then plan to attend one of these 15 classes at RootsTech 2018.
Unfortunately, you won't be able to take all of these classes. They don't repeat and several are booked at the same time. Pick the ones you are most interested in learning. For some apps, you can visit the Expo Hall and ask for specific help from vendors, especially MyHeritage, FamilySearch, and Ancestry.com.
There are three other app-related classes to keep in mind.
- If you purchase the Getting Started Pass, you can attend the class entitled "There's an App for That!" on Thursday at 1:30 PM and "MyHeritage: An app for family research" on Saturday at 3:00PM. These sessions are only open to Getting Started Pass holders.
- If you're only attending the Discovery Day session, your app class is "FamilySearch Mobile Apps: Family History, Anytime, Anywhere" on Saturday at 2:30 PM.
- If you want a smaller, hands-on class and are willing to pay the additional lab fee (on top of your registration fee), then you might want to attend the LAB "Dropbox Basics" offered on Wednesday at 3:00 PM or Friday at 1:30 PM.
Navigating the 300+ classes and labs can be challenging. We, at Family History Fanatics, hope this truncated list featuring a more narrow class offering helps you plan your schedule well. Stay tuned for more! We'll be posting one a day until February 17th to help you map our your schedule.
Here are the posts so far:
If you don't find a class during an hour that appeals to you, be prepared for mini-classes in the Expo Hall to fill the void. Stay tuned, and we'll keep this month of RootsTech madness going!!!
